A living-room-scale kilim from Maimana, Afghanistan. Handwoven, not printed.

Woven flat on a traditional loom: wool warp, wool weft, no knots and no pile. Reversible, and hard-wearing on both sides.

The wool is hand-spun and vegetable-dyed, so colour varies slightly across the piece — abrash, the fingerprint of a small dye lot.

299 × 255 cm (9'10" x 8'4"). This exact kilim exists once — when it sells, the listing stays marked sold, not relisted.
